 Additional Information

Packet Pick-up - You may pick-up your shirt, participant bib w/ timing chip and sponsor coupons at Northlake Physical Therapy in Old Town St. Helens on Wednesday, April 22nd (from 3:30pm to 6:30pm).  Northlake Physical Therapy is located at 21 Cowlitz Street, St. Helens, OR 97051.

Timing equipment - Uberthons is the official timer for the Race Against Child Abuse and uses Jaguar timing equipment. Overhead RFID antennas capture your time using disposable chips that are fastened to the back of your racing bib. Take the chips home with you - you will not be asked to return the chips. Wear your bib, VISIBLY, on the upper chest to maximize the chip reads and to allow video recording of your bib number as you cross the finish line. Chips and timing equipment are manufactured by Innovative Timing Systems - innovativetimingsystems.com. Valuables – Coat check will be available at Northlake Physical Therapy (21 Cowlitz Street, St. Helens, OR 97051) on the day of the race.  Please note that Northlake Physical Therapy is approximately 1 block from the race start, so give yourself enough time to drop off valuables and get to the starting line before your race start time.  Coat check will be open from 7:30am until the last racer finishes the finish line or 11:30am (whichever comes first).

Race course – Our challenging courses are tried and true...developed, tested and approved by ORRC runners, previous Race Against Child Abuse participants, and local running enthusiasts. The entire course is on asphalt or hard-packed gravel with hills on the 10K & Half Marathon courses. Directional signs are used to guide runners throughout the course and CERT certified personnel are stationed along the course as well.  Four aid stations are positioned on the course - the first is 1.55 miles (5K turn around), the second is 3 miles (Pixie Park, 10K turn around), the third is 8 miles (Top of Smith Rd./turn around for Half Marathon) and a fourth is at the finish line. This is an out and back course; therefore, water/aid stations are available on the way up and back.  For your safety, bikes or inline skates are NOT allowed on the course the day of the Race. Each mile is clearly marked on the course. You may run, walk, or bike the course any time prior to the event.

Half Marathon Course:
We help children move past fear to hope.  Show our kids how tough you are.  Our half marathon is challenging but not to be feared!

Come see a side of Columbia County you’ve never experienced before. With over 6 miles of back roads and almost 2,200 feet of total elevation gain, this half marathon course is sure to challenge you. The climb up Smith Road is tree-lined (meaning shade from sun or shelter from rain) and beautiful. This isn’t likely to be a PR course, but the scenic views and challenging hills are sure to provide a unique and awesome experience!

Four aid stations will be provided along the route; three will have goodies (gummy bears, fruit, etc.) in addition to water. The course will be open for 3.5 hours (16 min/mile pace). Finish line will be open for 4 hours.  No walkers are allowed on this course, although run/walkers are welcome.

10k Course: The 10k course is an out and back that takes you through downtown St. Helens and into Columbia City. There is a short, but steep hill you’ll have the opportunity to conquer twice – as you enter & leave Columbia City. Three aid stations will be provided along the route. In addition to water, the station at the turn around point will also have goodies (gummy bears, fruit, etc.)!

5k Course: The 5k course is fairly flat with some gentle rollers. It’s an out and back through downtown St. Helens. The course takes you past the t-ball park and the middle school. One aid station with water will be provided at the turn around.

1 Mile Family Walk Course: This short course was designed to provide fun for the whole family. Bring your stroller or wagon and load up the kiddos for a trek around Old Town.  Registered participants receive a shirt and "stews" coupon.  All participants receive a participation ribbon.

Packet Pick-up - Northlake Physical Therapy on Wednesday, April 22nd from 3:30pm-6:30pm.

Registration - Please register by April 3rd to ensure you receive a Race Against Child Abuse shirt. Discount codes are in place through March 13th and April 3rd.  Registration is full price after April 3rd and shirts are not guaranteed for registration after that date.
